Resumé

Jeanne holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Drawing & Printmaking, and a Masters of Fine Art in Surface & Textile Design. She is Professor Emerita of Fibers from Tennessee Technological University’s Appalachian Center for Craft, School of Art, Craft & Design where she headed the Fiber Arts department for 19 years. ​Screen printing, block printing, and drawing are Jeanne’s loves and areas of expertise.

Education:

1996 Master of Fine Arts in Surface & Textile Design.  East Carolina University.

1977 Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking & Drawing.  East Carolina University.

Professor Emerita of Fibers: 1999-2018 Tennessee Technological University’s School of Art, Craft & Design, Appalachian Center for Craft. All levels of surface design, weaving, paper & bookmaking, and Relief Printmaking.

Professional Activities

2021 MAAP (Master Artist/ Apprentice Program). January-June. This program is funded through the Tennessee Arts Commission and administered by Tennessee Craft. I was selected as one of the 2021 Masters. 

This program is designed to ensure the continuation of the craft tradition and skills in Tennessee through an apprenticeship with an identified master craftsperson. The program culminates in an exhibition of artwork produced by my apprentice and myself, exhibited at the Tennessee Arts Commission.


1997 + Workshop Teaching since 1997: Most notably in Dusseldorf, Germany, and at notable craft schools: Peters Valley, etc….


Have been exhibiting artwork (invitationals, Juried, and group shows) since 1997. A few notables include:

2019 Fiberarts International. Juried exhibition. Pittsburgh PA. Work chosen to tour in 2020 

2016 Awarded Best of Show at The Best of Tennessee exhibition, Reece Museum, Johnson City TN. Juror: Jerry Jackson.

2002 Migraine, Solo Exhibition of mixed media drawings centered on the theme of children and migraines. Held in conjunction with the Fifth International Symposium on Headaches in Children and Adolescents, Oberhausen, Germany.
